YOUNG ARTIST RESIDENCY 2015

The Ownership Project partnered with Multicultural Arts Victoria to offer a three-month residency for three young emerging artists. Young artists were introduced to the art of printmaking under the guidance of experienced TOP printmaker Sean Smith and emerging artist and printmaker Minela Krupic. Young artists explored their neighbourhood to find characteristics that define the streets, urban architecture, and their everyday surroundings and experiences within the City of Yarra. They refined their skills and knowledge of printmaking techniques and increased their arts industry knowledge through scheduled gallery visits and artist talks.

The residency culminated in an exhibition titled Etch This! at The Ownership Project Gallery during Emerge in Yarra Festival, 14-20 June 2015.

Etch This!, part of Emerge in Yarra, is produced by The Ownership Project in partnership with Multicultural Arts Victoria and supported by the Creative Victoria, the City of Yarra and the University of Melbourne, Professional Pathways Scholarship of the Faculty of VCA and MCM.
